The Amramites (Al-Imraan)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
A. L. M. 1 God, there is no god but He, the Living, the Everlasting. 2 He has revealed to you the Book with truth, verifying that which is before it, and He revealed the Tavrat and the Injeel aforetime, a guidance for the people, and He sent the Furqan. 3 before, as a guidance for people, and He sent down the Criterion. As for those who disbelieve in the verses of Allah, for them is an intense punishment. Allah is Mighty, Owner of Vengeance. 4 Verily Allah! naught is concealed from Him in the earth or in the heaven. 5 He it is Who shapes you in the wombs as He likes; there is no god but He, the Mighty, the Wise 6 It is He who sent down upon thee the Book, wherein are verses clear that are the Essence of the Book, and others ambiguous. As for those in whose hearts is swerving, they follow the ambiguous part, desiring dissension, and desiring its interpretation; and none knows its interpretation, save only God. And those firmly rooted in knowledge say, 'We believe in it; all is from our Lord'; yet none remembers, but men possessed of minds. 7 Lord, do not cause our hearts to swerve after You have guided us. Grant us Your Mercy. You are the Embracing Giver. 8 Our Lord, surely You will gather the people for a Day about which there is no doubt. Indeed, Allah does not fail in His promise." 9
