The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Woe to every (kind of) scandal-monger and-backbiter, 1 who amasses wealth and counts it, 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him last forever! 3 Nay, he shall be thrown into the Crusher. 4 And what will explain to thee That which Breaks to Pieces? 5 A fire kindled by God, 6 Which leapeth up over the hearts (of men). 7 Indeed, Hellfire will be closed down upon them 8 in columns outstretched. 9

True are the words of God the Almighty.
