Consultation (Al-Shooraa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha Mim 1 Ain Sin Qaf. 2 So reveals to thee, and to those before thee, God, the All-mighty, the All-wise. 3 His is what is in the heavens and what is in the earth, and He is the High, the Great. 4 The skies are near to bursting asunder above them (for awe of Him), and the angels sing the praises of their Lord, imploring forgiveness for the dwellers of the earth. Is it not that God is forgiving and merciful? 5 And (as for) those who take guardians besides Him, Allah watches over them, and you have not charge over them. 6 And this is how We have divinely revealed to you the Qur’an in Arabic, for you to warn the people of the mother of all towns – Mecca – and those around it, and to warn of the Day of Assembling of which there is no doubt; a group is in Paradise, and another group is in hell. 7 And if Allah had willed, He could have made them one nation, but He admits whom He wills to His Mercy. And the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.) will have neither a Wali (protector) nor a helper. 8 Or have they chosen protecting friends besides Him? But Allah, He (alone) is the Protecting Friend. He quickeneth the dead, and He is Able to do all things. 9
