Whatever misfortune happens to you, is because on the things your hands have wrought, and for many (of them) He grants forgiveness. 30 You cannot thwart Him on the earth, and have no friend or helper apart from Him. 31 Ships sailing in the ocean like ensigns are a sign of His. 32 If He pleases, He causes the wind to become still so that they lie motionless on its back; most surely there are signs in this for every patient, grateful one, 33 He may, while forgiving much of the sins of those that ride these ships, drown them on account of some of their misdeeds. 34 and that those who dispute concerning Our signs may know they have no asylum. 35 Whatsoever you have been given is only this life's merchandise; but what is with God is better and more lasting for those who believe and place their trust in their Lord, 36 and who shun the more heinous sins and abominations; and who, whenever they are moved to anger, readily forgive; 37 And those who answer the Call of their Lord [i.e. to believe that He is the only One Lord (Allah), and to worship none but Him Alone], and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and who (conduct) their affairs by mutual consultation, and who spend of what We have bestowed on them; 38 and who, whenever tyranny afflicts them, defend themselves. 39 The recompense for an evil is an evil like thereof, but whoever forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is due from Allah. Verily, He likes not the Zalimun (oppressors, polytheists, and wrong-doers, etc.). 40 And whosoever harms after he has been harmed there is no blame upon them. 41 blame falls only on those who wrong men and transgress on this earth without justification, such will have a painful punishment, 42 But surely he who bears patiently and is forgiving -- surely that is true constancy. 43
