And whatsoever of affliction befalleth you is owing to that which your hands have earned; and He pardoneth much. 30 And you cannot escape from Allah (i.e. His Punishment) in the earth, and besides Allah you have neither any Wali (guardian or a protector) nor any helper. 31 And of His Signs are the ships that sail in the sea like mountains. 32 If He will He calmeth the wind so that they keep still upon its surface - Lo! herein verily are signs for every steadfast grateful (heart). - 33 Or He may destroy them because of that which they have earned, and He may pardon many of them. 34 He knows all those who dispute His revelations. They will find no way to escape from (His torment). 35 Whatever you have received is only for usage in the life of this world, and that which is with Allah is much better and more lasting – for those who believe and rely upon their Lord. 36 who eschew grave sins and shameful deeds, and whenever they are angry, forgive; 37 And those who respond to their Lord and keep up prayer, and their rule is to take counsel among themselves, and who spend out of what We have given them. 38 and who, when insolence visits them, do help themselves -- 39 The recompense for an evil is an evil like thereof, but whoever forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is due from Allah. Verily, He likes not the Zalimun (oppressors, polytheists, and wrong-doers, etc.). 40 And whoever avenges himself after having been wronged - those have not upon them any cause [for blame]. 41 The way of blame is only against those who wrong mankind, and rebel in the earth without justice; these! for them is a torment afflictive. 42 And verily whoso is patient and forgiveth - lo! that, verily, is (of) the steadfast heart of things. 43
