And whoever is averse to the Remembrance of the Most Gracious, We appoint a devil upon him, who stays with him. 36 Satan will prevent them from the right path while they think that they have the right guidance. 37 Until, when he comes to Us [at Judgement], he says [to his companion], "Oh, I wish there was between me and you the distance between the east and west - how wretched a companion." 38 And it profiteth you not this day, because ye did wrong, that ye will be sharers in the doom. 39 Can you [Prophet] make the deaf hear? Or guide either the blind or those who are in manifest error? 40 We shall punish them whether We take you away, 41 Or if We shew thee that wherewith We threaten them, verily We are going to prevail over them. 42 Therefore hold fast to that which has been revealed to you; surely you are on the right path. 43 The Quran is a reminder to you and to your people and you will soon be questioned about it. 44 And question thou our messengers whom We sent before thee; did We appoint any deities other than (Allah) Most Gracious, to be worshipped? 45
