۞ And when the son of Maryam is held up, an example, behold! thy people thereat cry out. 57 "Are our gods any better than Jesus (for according to Muhammad), if our gods go to hell so too will Jesus. What they say is only a false argument. In fact, they are a quarrelsome people. 58 He ['Iesa (Jesus)] was not more than a slave. We granted Our Favour to him, and We made him an example to the Children of Israel (i.e. his creation without a father). 59 Had We wanted, We could have made the angels as your successors on the earth. 60 It is the knowledge of the Hour. Have no doubt concerning it, and follow me. This is a Straight Path, 61 Let satan not prevent you from the right path. He is your sworn enemy". 62 When Jesus came with Clear Signs and said: “I have brought wisdom to you that I may make plain to you some of the things you differ about. So fear Allah and follow me. 63 Lo! Allah, He is my Lord and your Lord. So worship Him. This is a right path. 64 But the factions differed among themselves. Woe alas to the sinners for the torment of the grievous Day! 65 They await but the Hour: that it should come upon them of a sudden, while they perceive not. 66 On that Day even bosom friends shall become enemies to one another, all except the God-fearing. 67
