۞ And when the son of Maryam (Mary) is quoted as an example [i.e. 'Iesa (Jesus) is worshipped like their idols), behold! Your people cry aloud (laugh out at the example). 57 And they say: Are our gods better, or is he? They do not set it forth to you save by way of disputation; nay, they are a contentious people. 58 He is only a servant We blessed, and We made him to be an example to the Children of Israel. 59 And had We willed We could have appointed angels born of you in the earth to succeed each other. 60 And indeed Eisa is a sign* of the Last Day, therefore do not ever doubt in the Last Day, and obey Me**; this is the Straight Path. (* The advent of Prophet Eisa to earth for the second time. ** By obeying the Noble Messenger.) 61 Let satan not prevent you from the right path. He is your sworn enemy". 62 When Jesus came with Clear Signs, he said: "Now have I come to you with Wisdom, and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) on which ye dispute: therefore fear Allah and obey me. 63 Assuredly God is my Lord and your Lord; therefore serve Him; this is a straight path.' 64 But the factions differed among themselves. Woe alas to the sinners for the torment of the grievous Day! 65 Are they looking for aught but the Hour, that it shall come upon them suddenly, when they are not aware? 66 On that Day close friends shall become enemies of each other, except those who fear (Allah). 67
