۞ When [Jesus] the son of Mary is held up as an example, your people raise an outcry on this, 57 And say: Are our gods better, or is he? They raise not the objection save for argument. Nay! but they are a contentious folk. 58 [As for Jesus,] he was nothing but [a human being] a servant [of Ours] whom We had graced [with prophethood,] and whom We made an example for the children of Israel. 59 And had We willed We could have appointed angels born of you in the earth to succeed each other. 60 And most surely it is a knowledge of the hour, therefore have no doubt about it and follow me: this is the right path. 61 Let not Satan bar you; he is for you a manifest foe. 62 And when 'Iesa (Jesus) came with (Our) clear Proofs, he said: "I have come to you with Al-Hikmah (Prophethood), and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) in which you differ, therefore fear Allah and obey me, 63 God is your Lord and my Lord, so worship Him. This is the right path". 64 But the parties among them fell into variance; so woe unto those who did evil, because of the chastisement of a painful day. 65 Do they wait for aught but the hour, that it should come! upon them all of a sudden while they do not perceive? 66 Close friends, that Day, will be enemies to each other, except for the righteous 67
