And assuredly We delivered the Children of Isra'il from an ignominous torment 30 From Fir'awn; verily he was haughty and of the extravagant. 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge above the nations (of their time). 32 And granted them Signs in which there was a manifest trial 33 As to these (Quraish), they say forsooth: 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 So bring our ancestors back, if you are truthful." 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba? And those who were before them? We destroyed them; they were indeed criminals. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, for mere play, 38 We have created them for a genuine purpose, but most people do not know. 39 Verily the Day of sorting out is the time appointed for all of them,- 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to his friend, and when none shall be succoured 41 save those upon whom God will have bestowed His grace and mercy: for, verily, He alone is almighty, a dispenser of grace. 42
