So We saved the children of Israel from degrading suffering 30 from Pharaoh who was most prominent among the prodigals. 31 And We chose them aforetime above the nations, knowingly, 32 and showed them signs in which there was a clear test. 33 Indeed these disbelievers proclaim; – 34 “This is our first and only death, and we shall never be raised again. 35 Bring back our fathers, if ye speak the truth! 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba' and those who came before them? We destroyed them, because they were guilty of sin. 37 It was not in play that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We did not create them except with the truth, but most of them do not know. 39 The Day of Judgement is your promised day of meeting, 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to his friend, and when none shall be succoured 41 Save those on whom Allah shall have mercy; surely He is the Mighty the Merciful. 42
