We indeed created man; and We know what his soul whispers within him, and We are nearer to him than the jugular vein. 16 [And so,] whenever the two demands [of his nature] come face to face, contending from the right and from the left, 17 Not a word he uttereth but there is with him a watcher ready. 18 and (the human being will be told), "This is what you had been trying to run away from". 19 And the Trumpet shall be blown; that is the Day of the Threat. 20 Each soul shall come with a driver, and a witness. 21 Assuredly thou wast in neglect thereof; now We have removed from off thee thy veil, so thy sight Today is piercing. 22 And his companion will say: this is that which with me is ready. 23 It will be said to the angels, “Both of you fling every excessive ungrateful, stubborn person into hell.” 24 Forbidder of good, exceeder of limits, doubter, 25 Who set up with Allah another god. So cast him ye twain into the torment severe. 26 ۞ and his associate [Satan] will say, "Lord, I did not make him transgress, he had already gone far astray himself." 27 He will say: "Dispute not with each other in My Presence: I had already in advance sent you Warning. 28 and My word shall not be changed, nor am I unjust to My servants." 29
