NOW, VERILY, it is We who have created man, and We know what his innermost self whispers within him: for We are closer to him than his neck-vein. 16 Moreover, there are two scribes, one each sitting on the right and the left, recording everything. 17 each word he utters shall be noted down by a vigilant guardian. 18 The trance of death will come revealing the truth: that is what you were trying to escape. 19 And the trumpet is blown. This is the threatened Day. 20 And there shall come every soul therewith shall be a driver and a witness. 21 [and will be told:] "Indeed, unmindful hast thou been of this [Day of Judgment]; but now We have lifted from thee thy veil, and sharp is thy sight today!" 22 His companion attendant will say, "I have here his record ready." 23 (And it is said): Do ye twain hurl to hell each rebel ingrate, 24 Preventer of good, aggressor, and doubter, 25 who has set up with Allah another god. Indeed, you two, cast him into the terrible punishment' 26 ۞ His companion (Satan devil)] will say: "Our Lord! I did not push him to transgress, (in disbelief, oppression, and evil deeds) but he was himself in error far astray." 27 He saith: Contend not in My presence, when I had already proffered unto you the warning. 28 There is no changing of My word, nor am I unjust to My creatures." 29
