Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 Then those (ships) that glide easily, 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 indeed, that which you are promised is true, 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 Who are under a cover of heedlessness (think not about the gravity of the Hereafter), 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 (And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten." 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 And in the morning they asked forgiveness. 18 And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived. 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 And in the heaven lies your sustenance, and the promise you are given. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
