Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By (the winds) that scatter dust. 1 then the bearers of weight (the clouds), 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 they who [mockingly] ask, "When is that Day of Judgment to be?" 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 They used to sleep but little in the night. 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer privation. 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
