Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By (the winds) that scatter dust. 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 By the heaven with its numerous forms: 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on. 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night, 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
