Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the winds which scatter dust, 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 Turned aside therefrom (i.e. from Muhammad SAW and the Quran) is he who is turned aside (by the Decree and Preordainment of Allah). 9 Woe to the liars 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
