Has the story of Abraham's honoured guests come to you? 24 When they entered upon him and said, "[We greet you with] peace." He answered, "[And upon you] peace, [you are] a people unknown. 25 Then he went to his family and came with a fat [roasted] calf 26 So he brought it near them. He said: What! will you not eat? 27 Then he conceived a fear of them (when they ate not). They said: "Fear not." And they gave him glad tidings of an intelligent son, having knowledge (about Allah and His religion of True Monotheism). 28 Then came forward his wife, clamouring, and she smote her face, and said, 'An old woman, barren!' 29 They said: even so saith thine Lord. Verily He! He is the Wise, the Knower. 30 ۞ [Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?" 31 They said: "We have been sent to a people who are Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, disbelievers in Allah); 32 that we may unleash a shower of clay-stones 33 Marked by thy Lord for (the destruction of) the wanton. 34 Then we brought forth such believers as were there. 35 But did not find more than a single family of believers. 36 And We have left there a sign (i.e. the place of the Dead Sea, well-known in Palestine) for those who fear the painful torment. 37 As (there was) in Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 but he turned his back, with his court, saying, 'A sorcerer, or a man possessed!' 39 So We seized him and his armies, and threw them into the sea, for he was worthy of blame. 40 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Ad, when We let loose upon them an ominous wind 41 It spared nothing that it reached, but blew it into broken spreads of rotten ruins. 42 And in Thamood it was said to them: 'Take your enjoyment for awhile' 43 Then they disdained the command of their Lord; wherefore the bolt laid hold of them even while they looked on. 44 and they were not able to stand upright, and were not helped. 45 And the people of Noah before; surely they were an ungodly people. 46
