Has there reached you the story of the honored guests of Abraham? - 24 When those [heavenly messengers] came unto him and bade him peace, he answered, "[And upon you be] peace!" - [saying to himself,] "They are strangers." 25 Then he went back to his family and brought a fat roasted calf 26 and placed it before them. "Will you not eat?" he said, 27 Then he conceived a fear of them (when they ate not). They said: "Fear not." And they gave him glad tidings of an intelligent son, having knowledge (about Allah and His religion of True Monotheism). 28 Then his wife came forward with a loud voice, she smote her face, and said: "A barren old woman!" 29 They said: “So has your Lord said (that you shall have a boy). Surely He is Most Wise, All-Knowing.” 30 ۞ He said: what then is your errand! O ye sent ones! 31 They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals 32 to let loose upon them stone-hard blows of chastisement, 33 Marked, from before thy Lord, for the extravagant. 34 Then We evacuated those of the Believers who were there, 35 But did not find more than a single family of believers. 36 We left therein evidence for those who fear the painful torment. 37 And in Moosa, when We sent him with a clear proof towards Firaun. 38 but he turned his back with his Assembly, saying: 'He is (either) a sorcerer or a mad man' 39 Then We seized him and his army and cast them all into the sea: he himself [Pharaoh] was to blame. 40 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Ad, when We let loose upon them an ominous wind 41 It left not aught whereon it came but it made it as matter decayed. 42 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Thamud. They were told: “Enjoy yourselves for a while.” 43 Then they turned in disdain from the commandment of their Lord, and the thunderbolt took them and they themselves beholding 44 Then they could not even stand (on their feet), nor could they help themselves. 45 [We destroyed] the people of Noah before them. They were certainly a sinful people. 46
