(O Prophet), did the story of Abraham's honoured guests reach you? 24 When they came to him and said, “Peace”; he answered, “Peace”; and thought, “These people are not familiar.” 25 Then he turned away privately unto his household, and brought a calf fatted. 26 and he laid it before them saying, 'Will you not eat?' 27 beginning to be afraid of them. But they said, "Don't be afraid"; and they gave him the good news of a son who would be endowed with knowledge. 28 So hearing his wife went forth shouting. She struck her face and exclaimed: “A barren old woman am I.” 29 They said, “This is how your Lord has decreed; indeed He only is the Wise, the All Knowing.” 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "What is your errand, O messengers?" 31 They replied: “Behold, we have been sent to a wicked people 32 that we may unleash a shower of clay-stones 33 marked with thy Lord for the prodigal. 34 And in the course of time We brought out [of Lot 's city] such [few] believers as were there: 35 – and We did not find there any, apart from a single house of Muslims – 36 and We left therein a sign for those who fear a painful punishment. 37 And in Moosa, when We sent him with a clear proof towards Firaun. 38 But (Pharaoh) turned back with his Chiefs, and said, "A sorcerer, or one possessed!" 39 Then We laid hold of him and his hosts and flung them into the sea, and he was reproachable. 40 And in Ad: When We sent upon them the destructive wind. 41 that left nothing that it came upon without reducing it to rubble. 42 And in Thamud (there is also a sign), when they were told: "Enjoy yourselves for a while!" 43 They transgressed against the command of their Lord. So a blast of sound struck them and they were unable to do anything but stare. 44 So they were not able to stand, nor could they help themselves. 45 So were the People of Noah before them for they wickedly transgressed. 46
