The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the Mount; 1 by the book (Torah) written 2 in a parchment unrolled, 3 And by oath of the Inhabited House. 4 By the Canopy Raised High; 5 and the sea that is full 6 the torment of your Lord will inevitably take place 7 There is none who could avert it. 8 On the day when the heaven shall move from side to side 9 And the mountains will pass on, departing - 10 Woe, then, will be on that Day to the beliers 11 That play (and paddle) in shallow trifles. 12 A day when they will be pushed, forcibly shoved towards the fire of hell. 13 (it will be said to them): 'This is the Fire which you belied! 14 Is this magic, or do you not see? 15 Roast therein; endure it or endure it not, thereof it is equal unto you. Ye are only being requited for that which ye have been working. 16 [But,] verily, the God-conscious will find themselves [on that Day] in gardens and in bliss, 17 Rejoicing because of what their Lord gave them, and their Lord saved them from the punishment of the burning fire. 18 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of that which you did' 19 Reclining on thrones set in lines, and We will unite them to large-eyed beautiful ones. 20 And those who believed, and whose progeny also followed them in their faith, will be united with their offspring. We will not deprive them of their labour in the least. Every man is bound to what he does. 21 And We shall provide them with fruit and meat, such as they desire. 22 and in that [paradise] they shall pass on to one another a cup which will not give rise to empty talk, and neither incite to sin. 23 ۞ Round about them will serve, (devoted) to them, young male servants (handsome) as Pearls well-guarded. 24 They advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 25 Saying, “Indeed before this, we were in our houses, worried.” 26 Then Allah graced us with His favour and saved us from the chastisement of the scorching wind. 27 "Truly, we did call unto Him from of old: truly it is He, the Beneficent, the Merciful!" 28
