The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the mount 1 Consider [God's] revelation, inscribed 2 In a Scroll unfolded; 3 And the House (Kaaba) that is visited, 4 and by the lofty vault of the sky, 5 and by the swelling sea, 6 the torment of your Lord will inevitably take place 7 There shall be none to avert it; 8 On the day when the heaven shall move from side to side 9 and the mountains move, moving. 10 woe that day unto those that cry lies, 11 those who are in plunging, playing. 12 On that day they will be violently pushed into the fire 13 "This is the Fire which you used to deny. 14 Is this magic, or do you not see? 15 Endure the heat thereof, and whether ye are patient of it or impatient of it is all one for you. Ye are only being paid for what ye used to do. 16 The pious will live in bountiful Paradise, 17 rejoicing in whatever their Lord has given them. Their Lord has saved them from the torment of the Fire, 18 (They will be told): “Eat and drink to your hearts' content as a reward for your deeds.” 19 They will be reclining on thrones lined up, and We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes. 20 Those who believe, and whose descendants follow in belief, We will join their descendants to them. And We will not reduce them of anything of their deeds. Every one is pledged for what he has earned. 21 And We shall increasingly give them fruit and meat such as they desire. 22 There they pass from hand to hand a cup wherein is neither vanity nor cause of sin. 23 ۞ and youths, of their own, shall pass among them as if they were hidden pearls. 24 And they will advance unto each other asking questions. 25 Saying: Surely we feared before on account of our families: 26 But God has granted us favors and saved us from the scorching heat of the torment. 27 Surely we called upon Him before: Surely He is the Benign, the Merciful. 28
