The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the Mount (of Revelation); 1 And a Scripture inscribed 2 In an outstretched fine parchment, 3 By the House Frequented. 4 Consider the vault [of heaven] raised high! 5 By the sea overflowing. 6 surely, the punishment of your Lord is about to come, 7 No one can avert it. 8 The day the sky will tremble, 9 And the mountains will move with a visible movement. 10 So woe on that day to those who reject (the truth), 11 Those who in wading sport themselves. 12 the day when they shall be pitched into the fire of Gehenna: 13 “This is the fire, which you used to deny!” 14 Is it magic then or do you not see? 15 Go now and burn in it. It is all the same whether you bear it patiently or do not bear it with patience. You are only being recompensed for your deeds.” 16 As to the Righteous, they will be in Gardens, and in Happiness,- 17 Enjoying what their Lord has given them, and their Lord protected them from the punishment of Hellfire. 18 Eat and drink with relish for that which ye have been working. 19 reclining on couches [of happiness] ranged in rows!" And [in that paradise] We shall mate them with companions pure, most beautiful of eye. 20 And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith - We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person, for what he earned, is retained. 21 And We shall bestow on them, of fruit and meat, anything they shall desire. 22 There they pass from hand to hand a cup wherein is neither vanity nor cause of sin. 23 ۞ And they will be waited upon by [immortal] youths, [as if they were children] of their own, [as pure] as if they were pearls hidden in their shells. 24 They will turn to one another and ask (regarding the past events). 25 Saying: "Aforetime, we were afraid with our families (from the punishment of Allah). 26 But God has granted us favors and saved us from the scorching heat of the torment. 27 before this, we used to pray to Him. Surely, He is the Beneficent, the Merciful." 28
