Therefore continue to remind, for by the grace of your Lord, you are not a soothsayer, or a madman. 29 Do they say, "He is only a poet and we are waiting to see him die!?" 30 Say thou: wait verily I am, with you, among the waiters. 31 Does their reasoning prompt them to this, or they are a people rebellious? 32 Do they say: “He has himself fabricated the Qur'an?” No; the truth is that they are altogether averse to believing. 33 Let them produce a scripture like it, if what they say is true. 34 [Or do they deny the existence of God?] Have they themselves been created without anything [that might have caused their creation]? or were they, perchance, their own creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they have no firm Belief. 36 Or are the Treasures of thy Lord with them, or are they the managers (of affairs)? 37 Or have they a ladder, by which they can (climb up to heaven and) listen (to its secrets)? Then let (such a) listener of theirs produce a manifest proof. 38 Does God have daughters while you have sons? 39 Or do you demand any wages from them so that they are burdened with expense? 40 Or possess they the Unseen so that they can write (it) down? 41 Or do they intend a plan? But those who disbelieve - they are the object of a plan. 42 Or do they have a God besides Allah? Purity is to Allah from their ascribing of partners to Him. 43 Even if they saw lumps falling from the sky they would say: 'A massed cloud' 44 Hence, leave them alone until they face that [Judgment] Day of theirs, when they will be stricken with terror: 45 The Day their plan will not avail them at all, nor will they be helped. 46 But, verily, for those who are bent on doing evil, there is suffering in store [even] closer at hand than that [supreme suffering in the hereafter]: but most of them are not aware of it. 47 Await the judgement of your Lord, for you are always before Our eyes, and glorify your Lord with praises when you rise, 48 And in the night-time also hymn His praise, and at the setting of the stars. 49
