So did you observe him who turned away? 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 that no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear another's burden; 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 and that it is He who created pairs, the male and the female, 45 from a drop of sperm when it was emitted, 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
