Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 That no soul laden bears the load of another, 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep; 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing. 52 And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain, 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
