Did you (O Muhammad SAW) observe him who turned away (from Islam). 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 and that with thy Sustainer is the beginning and the end [of all that exists]; 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 And before them, the people of Nooh? Indeed they were more unjust and more rebellious than these! 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
