Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 And He who ordains death and life; 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time; 47 And that it is He Who has given wealth and contentment? 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 And you are lost in play! 61 Prostrate yourselves before God, and worship Him alone! ۩ 62
