Thamud denied the warning 23 So they said: What! a single mortal from among us! Shall we follow him? Most surely we shall in that case be in sure error and distress: 24 Was he the one of all of us to have been given the exposition? He is surely an impudent liar." 25 Tomorrow they will come to know, who is the liar, the insolent one! 26 Surely We are going to send the she-camel as a trial for them; therefore watch them and have patience. 27 And tell them that the water [of the well] is to be divided between them, and that each one should drink in turn." 28 Then they called their comrade, and he took in hand, and hamstrung her. 29 Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings! 30 We sent upon them a single blast of sound and they were left like hay to be used by the cattle. 31 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? 32 The people of Lot denied the warning. 33 We sent a stone-hurtling storm against them, except the family of Lot whom We saved in the early hours of the morning 34 a blessing from Us; even so We recompense him who is thankful. 35 And assuredly he had warned them of Our grasp, but: they doubted the warnings. 36 and even demanded that he give up his guests [to them]: whereupon We deprived them of their sight [and thus told them, as it were]: "Taste, then, the suffering which I inflict when My warnings are disregarded!" 37 Indeed an abiding chastisement came upon them in the morning. 38 "Then taste you My Torment and My Warnings." 39 And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind? 40
