To the People of Pharaoh, too, aforetime, came Warners (from Allah). 41 They rejected each one of Our signs. So We seized them with the grip of one mighty and powerful. 42 Are your disbelievers better than they were, or have you been given exemption in the Books? 43 Or do they say, "We are a united group, and we are bound to prevail?" 44 Anon will their multitude be vanquished, and they will turn the back. 45 Nay, the hour is their promised time, and the hour shall be most grievous and bitter. 46 Surely the sinners are in error and insanity! 47 on the Day when they are dragged into the fire on their faces, it will be said to them, "Now feel the touch of Hell!" 48 We have created everything in due measure; 49 and Our ordaining [a thing and its coming into being] is but one [act,] like the twinkling of an eye. 50 And We have already destroyed your kinds, so is there any who will remember? 51 And everything they have wrought is in the Writs. 52 and everything, great and small, is inscribed. 53 [Hence, too,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves in [a paradise of] gardens and running waters, 54 in a sure abode, in the presence of a King Omnipotent. 55
