The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 Hath made known the Qur'an. 2 Created man, 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration. 6 And the skies has He raised high, and has devised [for all things] a measure, 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And the earth He has put for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 Pearls and corals come from both. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
