The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Beneficent (God) 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 Created man, 3 and has taught him articulate speech. 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
