The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 He created man 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 Lord of the two easts and of the two wests is He. 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
