The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 Hath made known the Qur'an. 2 He has created man: 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and the moon are scheduled. 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs. 12 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of the two easts and of the two wests is He. 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
