۞ The Beneficent 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 He created the human 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 That you may not be inordinate in respect of the measure. 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 And also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet: 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 25
