The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Read (Prophet Muhammad) in the Name of your Lord who created, 1 Created man from a clot. 2 Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, 3 He Who taught (the use of) the pen,- 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 Surely your returning is to your Lord. 8 Have you seen the one who prohibits 9 A servant when he prays? 10 Do you think he is rightly guided, 11 or if he commands others to maintain piety!? 12 What is your opinion – if he denies and turns away, how wretched will be his state! 13 Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? 14 Nay! if he desist not, We would certainly smite his forehead, 15 The lying, sinful forelock - 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 (Muhammad), never yield to him! Prostrate yourself and try to come closer to God. ۩ 19
