The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When there happeneth the Event. 1 There is no denying that it will befall - 2 Abasing (one party), exalting (the other), 3 When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. 4 And the mountains shall be made to crumble with (an awful) crumbling, 5 becoming scattered dust, 6 And you become [of] three kinds: 7 Those of the right hand -- how (happy) will be those of the right hand! 8 And the Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? 9 And the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race: 10 those are they brought nigh the Throne, 11 in the beautiful Paradise. 12 A [large] company of the former peoples 13 And a few of later ages, 14 (They will be) on Thrones encrusted (with gold and precious stones), 15 Reclining thereon facing each other. 16 There shall go round unto them youths ever-young. 17 Carrying bowls and pitchers – and cups filled with wine flowing before them. 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 And such fruits as they fancy, 20 And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire. 21 And companions with big beautiful eyes 22 Like pearls safely hidden. 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 but only the saying: 'Peace, Peace' 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 They will be in (the shade) of thornless lote 28 And clustered plantains, 29 In shade long-extended, 30 And water poured out 31 and fruit abounding, 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 And [with them will be their] spouses, raised high: 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 loving companions, matching in age, 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
