Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the loosed ones successively 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 for the living and the dead? 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
