The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event comes, 1 Which is bound to happen undoubtedly -- 2 abasing, exalting, 3 When the earth is shaken with a shaking [severe,] 4 The mountains bruised and crushed, 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 8 And those on the left – how (wretched) are those on the left! 9 Then the foremost, how pre-excellent, 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 A multitude of those (foremost) will be from the first generations (who embraced Islam). 13 And a few of later ages, 14 On couches in wrought with gold. 15 Reclining face to face. 16 immortal youths shall go about them 17 With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire to eat; 21 And companions with big beautiful eyes 22 Like unto Pearls well-guarded. 23 As recompense for all they had done. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 Only a saying: "Peace, peace." 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 Among Talh trees with flowers (or fruits) piled one above another,- 29 and extended shade, 30 Gushing water, 31 and an abundance of fruits, 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 They shall be on upraised couches, 34 We have created (their Companions) of special creation. 35 And made them virgins, 36 full of love, well-matched 37 For those on the right. 38
