The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THAT which must come to pass [at last] comes to pass, 1 There is no belying its coming to pass-- 2 Abasing (some), exalting (others); 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 And the mountains are broken down, crumbling 5 And become dust dispersing. 6 And ye are classes three. 7 Those of the right hand -- how (happy) will be those of the right hand! 8 And those on the left – how (wretched) are those on the left! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 In gardens of delight; 12 A multitude of those of old 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 On lined couches, 15 Reclining on them, facing one another. 16 immortal youths shall go about them 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. 19 And with fruits, any that they may select: 20 and such flesh of fowl as they desire, 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 like hidden pearls, 23 shall be their recompense for their deeds. 24 No empty talk will they hear there, nor any call to sin, 25 but only the saying: 'Peace, Peace' 26 As for the people of the right hand, how happy they will be! 27 mid thornless lote-trees 28 And clusters of banana plants. 29 And spreading shade, 30 And water everflowing. 31 And abundant fruit, 32 Neither out of reach nor yet forbidden, 33 And on couches or thrones, raised high. 34 Perfectly We formed them, perfect, 35 And made them virgins, 36 The beloved of their husbands, of one age. 37 For those on the Right Hand. 38
