The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 There is no denying that it will befall - 2 Abasing exalting. 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms, 5 so that they become as scattered dust 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 Those on the Right -- how blessed are those on the Right! 8 And the Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? 9 Then the foremost, how pre-excellent, 10 These will be those Nearest to Allah: 11 In the Gardens of Pleasure, 12 A multitude from the ancients. 13 And a few of the later peoples, 14 On thrones decorated, 15 Reclining thereon facing each other. 16 Immortal youths will serve them 17 With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, 18 that will neither make the head throb, nor intoxicate, 19 and such fruits as they shall choose, 20 And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire. 21 And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes, 22 The likenesses of pearls well-protected, 23 The reward for what they did. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 only the words of peace and tranquillity. 26 And those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 27 Among thorn-less lote-trees. 28 And [banana] trees layered [with fruit] 29 In shade long-extended, 30 And water gushing, 31 And fruits numberless, 32 Neither ending nor forbidden. 33 And [upon] beds raised high. 34 We have created maidens perfectly 35 And have made them virgins. 36 intensely loving and of matching age. 37 For those on the right. 38
