The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 There is no denying that it will befall - 2 Abasing exalting. 3 This will happen when the earth is shaken, shaken 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 And you become [of] three kinds: 7 Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 The third to the fore shall be the foremost. 10 (The foremost ones) will be the nearest ones to God 11 They will dwell in the Gardens of Bliss: 12 A multitude from the ancients. 13 but only a few from the later generations. 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 facing one another. 16 immortal youths shall go about them 17 With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring - 18 a drink by which their minds will not be clouded nor will it cause drunkenness; 19 And fruit of what they select 20 And flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 and there shall be wide-eyed maidens, 22 Like unto preserved pearls. 23 as reward for their deeds. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 only the saying 'Peace, Peace!' 26 The Companions of the Right 27 They will live amid the thornless lot trees 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 And spreading shade, 30 and flowing water, 31 And fruits numberless, 32 Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden, 33 And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised high. 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 and shall have made them virgins, 36 loving and of equal age. 37 For those of the right hand. 38
