The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 there will be nought that could give the lie to its having come to pass, 2 It will bring down [some] and raise up [others]. 3 When the earth is shaken with convulsion 4 And the mountains are broken down, crumbling 5 so that they become as scattered dust 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 Those on the Right -- how blessed are those on the Right! 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 These are they who are drawn nigh (to Allah), 11 In gardens of bliss [will they dwell] 12 A multitude of those of old 13 And a few of those of later time. 14 On couches wrought of gold, 15 reclining on them, arrayed face to face; 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of limpid drink. 18 Whereby there shall be neither headiness nor will they be inebriated. 19 and with fruit of any kind that they may choose, 20 and the meat of any bird that they may desire; 21 And [with them will be their] companions pure, most beautiful of eye, 22 Like pearls within their shells, 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 Only a saying: "Peace, peace." 26 The Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 27 mid thornless lote-trees 28 Among Talh trees with flowers (or fruits) piled one above another,- 29 and extended shade, 30 And water flowing constantly, 31 and abundant fruits, 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised high. 34 We have created maidens perfectly 35 We have made them virgins, 36 Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age, 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
