The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the event befalleth - 1 There is no belying its coming to pass-- 2 abasing, exalting, 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 So that they become dust seattered. 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 And those on the left – how (wretched) are those on the left! 9 and the Outstrippers: the Outstrippers 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 In Gardens of Delight. 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 and only a few of them from the later generations. 14 (They will be) on Thrones encrusted (with gold and precious stones), 15 reclining on them facing each other; 16 they will be waited on by ageless youths 17 Carrying bowls and pitchers – and cups filled with wine flowing before them. 18 No after-ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication: 19 Also, they will be served with the fruits of their choice 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 And wide eyed houris 22 Like unto hidden pearls, 23 All this shall be theirs as a reward for their deeds. 24 They will not hear therein any vain or sinful talk, 25 but only the saying: 'Peace, Peace' 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 Amid thornless lote-trees, 28 And clusters of banana plants. 29 and amid the extended shade 30 And water gushing, 31 And fruit abundant. 32 never-ending and unrestricted, 33 and upraised couches. 34 We have created (their Companions) of special creation. 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 loving companions, matching in age, 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
