The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 and there can be no denying its happening, 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 When the earth is violently shaken 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 they will become like dust scattered around. 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 Thus, there shall be such as will have attained to what is right: oh, how [happy] will be they who have attained to what is right! 8 Companions of the Left (O Companions of the Left!) 9 Then the foremost, how pre-excellent, 10 those are they brought nigh the Throne, 11 in the Gardens of Bliss. 12 A multitude of those of old 13 And a few of the later peoples, 14 On lined couches, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 that will neither make the head throb, nor intoxicate, 19 along with fruits of their choice; 20 And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire. 21 And (there are) fair ones with wide, lovely eyes, 22 The like of the hidden pearls: 23 as reward for their deeds. 24 No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.). 25 only the saying 'Peace, Peace!' 26 The Companions of the Right Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 27 They shall recline on high amidst lote trees without thorns 28 and clustered bananas, 29 And shade extended 30 And water flowing constantly, 31 and fruit abounding, 32 Unending, unforbidden, 33 and raised couches 34 and the noble maidens that We have created 35 And made them virgins. 36 chastely amorous, 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
