▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 2 of 3
A multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the first generation (who embraced Islam). 39 And a (goodly) number from those of later times. 40 As for the people on the left hand, how miserable they will be! 41 In fierce hot wind and boiling water, 42 and the shadow of a smoking blaze 43 Neither cool nor honorable. 44 They had been affluent before, 45 and they persisted obstinately in awful sin, 46 ever saying, 'What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up? 47 Will our ancient forefathers be resurrected too? 48 Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Lo! those of old and those of later time 49 will be brought together for an appointment on an appointed day. 50 Then indeed you, the astray, the deniers – 51 "Ye will surely taste of the Tree of Zaqqum. 52 and will have to fill your bellies therewith, 53 and shall drink boiling water on top of that. 54 "Indeed ye shall drink like diseased camels raging with thirst!" 55 Such shall be your hospitality on the Day of Recompense. 56 We have created you, then why would you not confirm it? 57 Have you considered the seed you spill? 58 Do you make a human out of it, or is it We Who create? 59 We have decreed death among you, and We are not to be outdone 60 from changing your Forms and creating you (again) in (forms) that ye know not. 61 And assuredly ye have fully known the first production wherefore heed ye not? 62 Have you considered the seeds you till? 63 Is it you who makes it grow, or are We the grower? 64 If We so pleased, We could turn your harvest into chaff. Then you would start lamenting, 65 That, “We have indeed been penalised!” 66 nay; we have been undone!” 67 Have you thought about the water you drink? 68 Is it you that send it down from the clouds or We? 69 If We had so pleased, We could have made it bitter. So why would you not give thanks? 70 Have you considered the fire you kindle? 71 Is it you who have produced its tree or is it We who have produced it? 72 It is We who have made it as a reminder and a means of comfort for the people. 73 Then, exalt the Name of your Lord, the Great. 74

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
