A company of the former peoples 39 and many from the later generations. 40 And those on the Left Hand Who will be those on the Left Hand? 41 They will find themselves in scorching wind and scalding water, 42 And a shade of black smoke, 43 [shadows] neither cooling nor soothing. 44 They had lived in luxury before this 45 And they persisted in the great violation. 46 ever saying, 'What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up? 47 “And also our forefathers?” 48 Say: "Verily, those of olden times and those of later times 49 Shall most surely be gathered together for the appointed hour of a known day. 50 Then indeed you, the astray, the deniers – 51 will eat from the fruit of the tree of Zaqqum, 52 And filling with it your bellies 53 "And drink Boiling Water on top of it: 54 You shall drink it as the thirsty camels drink." 55 This shall be their entertainment on the Day of Requital. 56 We created you. Will ye then admit the truth? 57 Have you seen that which you emit? 58 Do ye create it or are We the Creator? 59 We have decreed death to you all, and We are not unable, 60 from changing your Forms and creating you (again) in (forms) that ye know not. 61 You have known the first growth; so why will you not remember? 62 Have ye seen that which ye cultivate? 63 Do you make it grow or is it We who make it grow? 64 Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry powder, and ye would be left in wonderment, 65 "We are ruined, 66 Aye! we are deprived! 67 Have you seen the water which you drink? 68 Did you send it down from the clouds, or did We send it? 69 If We willed, surely We would make it brackish. Wherefore give ye not thanks? 70 Have you considered the fire you kindle? 71 Is it you that produce the trees for it, or are We the producers? 72 We have made it a Reminder (for the Hell-fire, in the Hereafter); and an article of use for the travellers (and all the others, in this world). 73 Then glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great. 74
