۞ I swear by the setting of the stars 75 And most surely it is a very great oath if you only knew; 76 This is indeed the noble Qur’an. 77 In a Book Hidden. 78 Only they can reach it who are clean (of mind). 79 a revelation from the Sustainer of all the worlds! 80 Is it such a Message that ye would hold in light esteem? 81 Do you make its denial your means of livelihood? 82 Why, then, when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 83 And ye the while (sit) looking on,- 84 But We (i.e. Our angels who take the soul) are nearer to him than you, but you see not, [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 27, Page 209] 85 if you are not subject to anyone's authority, 86 Call back the soul, if ye are true (in the claim of independence)? 87 Then if he is one of those drawn nigh (to Allah), 88 Then happiness and bounty and a garden of bliss. 89 And if he be of the Companions of the Right Hand, 90 Then: peace unto thee, for thou art of those on the right hand. 91 And if he is one of those who give the lie (to this Message) and go astray, 92 a welcome of burning despair [awaits him in the life to come,] 93 And roasting in a Blaze. 94 This is indeed an utmost certainty. 95 Wherefore hallow thou the name of thy Lord, the Mighty! 96
