Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in whose hand is the Kingdom: He has power over all things; 1 Who created death and life that He might try you as to which of you is better in deed. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Forgiving; 2 Who has created the seven heavens one above another, you can see no fault in the creations of the Most Beneficent. Then look again: "Can you see any rifts?" 3 Then repeat thy look twice over, and thy look will return unto thee dim and it will have become wearied out. 4 We have adorned the lower heaven with lamps, and have made them a means to drive away the satans. We have prepared for them the chastisement of the Blazing Fire. 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there awaits the punishment of Gehenna (Hell) an evil arrival! 6 When they are cast into it, they will hear it roar and raging 7 Almost bursting for fury. Whenever a group is cast into it, its keeper shall ask them: Did there not come to you a warner? 8 They will say: "Yes indeed; a Warner did come to us, but we rejected him and said, 'Allah never sent down any (Message): ye are nothing but an egregious delusion!'" 9 They will further say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we should not (now) be among the Companions of the Blazing Fire!" 10 They will confess to their sins, but the dwellers of hell will be far away from God's (mercy). 11 Surely those who fear their Lord in the Unseen -- there awaits them forgiveness and a great wage. 12 And conceal your word or manifest it; surely He is Cognizant of what is in the hearts. 13 Does He not know, Who created? And He is the Knower of the subtleties, the Aware. 14
