Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in whose hands is the Kingdom and who has power over all things. 1 Who hath created life and death that He may try you which of you is best in conduct; and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving, 2 who created the seven heavens, one above the other. You cannot see any inconsistency in the creation of the Merciful. Return your gaze, do you see any crack! 3 Then look again and yet again, your sight will return to you in a state of humiliation and worn out. 4 And we have, (from of old), adorned the lowest heaven with Lamps, and We have made such (Lamps) (as) missiles to drive away the Evil Ones, and have prepared for them the Penalty of the Blazing Fire. 5 For those who believe not in their Lord there is the punishment of Hell; and what a wretched destination 6 When they are cast into it they shall hear it sighing, while it boils 7 as though bursting with rage. Each time a group is cast into it, its keepers will ask them, "Did no warner come to you?" 8 They shall say: Yea! indeed there came to us a warner, but we rejected (him) and said: Allah has not revealed anything, you are only in a great error. 9 They also say, 'If we had only heard, or had understood, we would not have been of the inhabitants of the Blaze.' 10 and thus they will confess their sin; far from God's mercy are the inmates of Hell. 11 Surely forgiveness and a mighty reward await those who fear Allah without seeing Him. 12 And whether you keep your talk secret or disclose it, verily, He is the All-Knower of what is in the breasts (of men). 13 Does the One Who is Subtle, All-aware, and Who created all things not know all about them? 14
